Vegan Tahini Sauce

Ingredients

  • 120ml tahini
  • 60ml lemon juice
  • 10ml maple syrup
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • 60ml water

Instructions

  1. Add all ingredients to a measuring jug.
  2. Whisk until smooth and creamy.
  3. Adjust water for desired consistency.

Tips & Notes

  • Thin sauce (as written) — perfect for drizzling on falafel, shawarma, tacos, salads.
  • Thicker sauce — use less water. Makes a perfect sour cream substitute (nut-free replacement for cashew sour cream).
  • Stir tahini well before measuring — oil separates in the jar and needs mixing.
  • Keeps 7+ days fridge. Also freezer-friendly for 1 month.
  • Uses: falafel, shawarma, tacos, salads, as a dip with flatbread/pita, or anywhere you’d use sour cream.
